[Part-time] Volunteer Coordinator of Wheel Chair Ramp Program at

Description:

Project:HOMES, a non-profit organization, is seeking an individual to assist the Program Manager of its Renew Crew wheel chair ramp program. This is a permanent part-time 30 hr./wk. position.
Specific duties include:

Determine client eligibility and complete applications.
Inspect job sites, design ramps, prepare measurements and obtain building permits.
Coordinate/prepare materials necessary for each project including loading and delivery to job site.
Train and supervise volunteers during ramp construction and on-site installation.
Ensure volunteers comply with prescribed safety precautions.
Perform necessary repairs on existing ramps.

Requirements
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Ability to drive pickup truck and trailer combination throughout the day
Availability to work up to two Saturdays and one evening per month

Education, Skills, and Other Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated knowledge of construction/carpentry skills
Ability to work in a close team environment
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to supervise others and manage projects
Good computer skills, including Word and Excel
Must have a current, unrestricted Virginia driver’s license.

Residential Counselor position available for residential independent living program for girls ages 17-21. This position is full-time and part-time. Full time is monday – friday 3-11 and part-time is every other weekend. 7a.m.-3p.m., 3p.m-11p.m or 11p.m.-7a.m.

Duties include but not limited to:
Provide direct supervision, training and treatment to residents in accordance of the resident’s plans and objectives;
Must be able to maintain a nurturing, structured environment;
Responsible for the health, welfare and supervision of residents according to policy and individual resident’s need;
Assist in maintaining an orderly, educative and positive atmosphere in the program;
Ensure facility is clean and functional;
Assist in the administration of student medications, document administration, and report on the general health of the all residents;
Assist in diffusing potential problem situations;
Provide monitoring and oversight to ensure the orderly conduct of individuals;
Respond to resident behaviors utilizing approved behavioral techniques in accordance with the student’s individual treatment plan;
Transport residents on appointments and outings; and
Generate daily progress notes.

Qualifications
Possess a baccalaureate degree in human services and 1 year experience providing direct supervision with children or adolescence or Associate’s degree in human services and 3 years experience providing direct supervision with children or a high school diploma with four years experience working in direct care with children or adolescence.
Must be certified in 1st Aid, CPR, Medication Management and Crisis Wave, and Current PPD Screening
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

As part of an initiative to reduce alcohol-related crashes with 18-24 year olds in Chesterfield County, Substance Abuse Free Environment, Inc. (SAFE) is implementing on-premise alcohol compliance surveys to ensure establishment staff are asking for identification prior to serving alcohol to young people in our community. We are seeking 21 year olds who are interested in working on this project. It is a paid position with evening hours. Those working on this project must have their own transportation and will not be allowed to consume alcohol while working.

Surveyors will conduct 12 surveys on pre-mapped routes during each four hour shift; shifts will be early evenings, Thursday, Friday and/or Saturdays, from May through November; completion of minimal paperwork is required when conducting surveys.
